Bartholomew of Dobschütz (* 19th January 1568 in Wroclaw , Lower Silesia , † 8. January 1637 in Breslau) was landowner and businessman , council elder in Wroclaw and Governor of the precincts of Namslau ( Upper Silesia ).

Dobschütz came from an old Silesian noble family and was the son of the landowner, merchant and landlord Nikolaus von Dobschütz († 1583), landlord in Polish Gandau and Jäschgüttel, and Margarethe Bache von Perschütz (1531-1600).

His first marriage was on February 7, 1590 in Breslau ( Elisabethkirche ), Rosina Fenzl von Feyeregg (* 1571; † June 25, 1621), the daughter of Lorenz Fenzl von Feyeregg from Danzig (descendant of the Nuremberg merchant family Fenzl ) and Hedwig from Hörnig .

In his second marriage on November 14, 1628, Dobschütz married Barbara Runtzler von Kroppitz (* 1583 - February 1657), the daughter of Joachim Runtzler von Kroppitz and Ludmilla von Gfug von Gossendorf, also in the Elisabeth Church in Breslau, who was widowed in second marriage .

His brother was Adam von Dobschütz (1558–1624), governor of the principality of Breslau .

Life

Dobschütz was a wealthy merchant who owned a house in Breslau around 1593. He had been the owner of the Dürrjentsch estate in the district of Wroclaw since at least 1605, and during these years he acted as a lender several times .

In 1611, when his older brother Adam had been governor of the Principality of Wroclaw for four years, Bartholomäus von Dobschütz was also elected to the Wroclaw Council, to which he belonged until his death in 1637. From at least 1626 he was a councilor. At the same time from 1611 he was councilor and governor of the soft picture Namslau (60 km east of Breslau).

During the Thirty Years' War he was a member of the so-called "sixth committee", was envoy of the Wroclaw Council at the court of the Habsburg emperor Ferdinand II (mentioned 1635/1636) and royal man .
