BD Jatti ( Basappa Danappa Jatti , pronunciation ? / I ; * September 10, 1912 in Savalgi; † June 7, 2002 in Bangalore ) was Vice President of India from 1974 to 1979 and Acting President of the Republic of India from February 12 to July 25, 1977 . Audio file / audio sample

The lawyer was Chief Minister of Mysore (1958–1962), Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry (1968–1972) and Governor of Orissa (1972–1974). As Indian Vice President he was acting Indian President after the death of Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed .
