Basil Salvadore D'Souza

Basil Salvadore D'Souza (born May 23, 1926 in Bondel , British India , † September 5, 1996 ) was Bishop of Mangalore .

Life

Basil Salvadore D'Souza received on 25 March 1952, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 22, 1965, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Mangalore. The Internuntius in India, Archbishop James Robert Knox , donated him episcopal ordination on May 11 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Calcutta , Albert Vincent D'Souza , and the Bishop of Chikmagalur , Alphonsus Mathias .

He attended the fourth session of the Second Vatican Council as a council father.
