Basile Octave Tanghe OFMCap (born March 20, 1879 in Bruges , Belgium , † December 13, 1947 ) was a Belgian religious and Roman Catholic Vicar Apostolic of Ubanghi Belga .

Life

Basile Octave Tanghe joined the religious order of the Capuchins and received the sacrament of priestly ordination on September 21, 1901 . On October 16, 1931, Pope Pius XI appointed him . to the Apostolic Prefect of Ubanghi Belga.

On January 28, 1935, Basile Octave Tanghe became the first Vicar Apostolic of Ubanghi Belga and Pius XI as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Prefecture of Ubanghi Belga. appointed him titular bishop of Tigava . The Bishop of Bruges , Henricus Lamiroy , ordained him episcopal on June 6th of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishop in Ghent , Eugène Victor Marie Van Rechem , and the auxiliary bishop in Mechelen , Étienne Carton de Wiart .
