Bat-El Gatterer ( Hebrew בת אל גטרר; * February 4, 1988 in Kochav Ja'akov ) is an Israeli Taekwondoin . It starts in the weight class up to 57 kilograms.

Her first international title fights Gatterer denied at the Junior European Championship in 2002 in Heraklion , where she was eliminated early. In the following years she started regularly in junior competitions, but could not achieve any podium places. In the adult sector, she made her debut in the class up to 59 kilograms at the 2006 European Championships in Bonn . Surprisingly, Gatterer qualified for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . In the class up to 57 kilograms, she was eliminated in the opening fight against Martina Zubčić and finished eleventh in the final classification. At the 2009 World Cup in Copenhagen , she reached the round of 16, but then lost to Edina Kotsis . Gatterer celebrated the greatest success of her career so far at the 2010 European Championships in Saint Petersburg . In the class up to 57 kilograms she beat Deborah Louz in the semifinals and Juliya Podolyan in the finals and won her first international title. At the 2011 World Cup in Gyeongju Gatterer was able to reach the second round again, but was defeated there by Lim Su-jeong .

Gatterer gained media attention in her home country because she is one of the few Olympians from the Israeli settlements . She grew up as the daughter of French emigrants in the West Bank . Gatterer starts for the Achea Wuhdi Jerusalem club and is trained by Noa Shmida. In 2008 she began two years of basic military service in the Israeli army .
