history

In 1867 the municipality of Batenhorst was reorganized by hiving off from the municipality of Langenberg . Until the municipal reorganization in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia , which came into force on January 1, 1970, it belonged to the Reckenberg Office .

Until 1967 there were two elementary schools in Batenhorst, the Bonifatiusschule and the school I am Meerweg.
