Bath is a city in Steuben County in the state of New York in the United States . In 2010 Bath had 12,379 inhabitants. The largest district is the Village of Bath , which has 5786 inhabitants and is the county seat of Steuben County.

It is no longer known today whether the city was named after Bath in England or after Lady Bath, the daughter of a landowner.

Bath is located in the popular tourist region of the Finger Lakes , glacial lakes in western New York State.

The film "Nobody's Fool" (USA 1994 with Paul Newman, Jessica Tandy and Bruce Willis) chose Bath as the setting.
