Reiting is a district of the municipality Bernhard Forest in Upper Palatinate district of Regensburg , Bavaria .

Geographical location

Reiting is located in the Regensburg region about 3 kilometers east of Bernhardswald and about 2 kilometers north of the 2145 state road .

history

In 1498 Reiting was first mentioned in writing as Reuthern. It follows that Reiting is not a real -ing- place. The name is derived from clearing work, in which root stocks are dug up and removed. Urban Zenger vom Lichtenwald zum Adlmannstein was the owner of Reiting in 1498 and did not pass the estate on to his son Wiguläus Zenger. In the second half of the 16th century, a Sölde was added to the Reiting farm. Reiting belonged to the Hofmark Adlmannstein.

On March 23, 1913 (Easter) Reiting belonged to the parish Altenthann with 5 houses and 37 inhabitants. On December 31, 1990 Reiting had 26 Catholic residents and belonged to the parish Altenthann.
