Course of the road
|
The Bathurst-Ilford Road is a connecting road to the east of the Australian state of New South Wales . The road connects the Great Western Highway , the Mitchell Highway , the Mid-Western Highway and O'Connell Road in Bathurst with the Castlereagh Highway and the Bylong Valley Way in Ilford .
course
The two-lane, continuously paved road leads from Bathurst, Great Western Highway (R32), Mitchell Highway (R32), Mid-Western Highway (R24) and O'Connell Road converging, to the north-northeast. At the historically interesting city of Sofala , it crosses the Turon River and then turns to the northeast.
In Ilford the Bathurst-Ilford Road reaches the Castlereagh Highway (S86) and ends. The Bylong Valley Way continues over the crest of the Great Dividing Range to the Golden Highway (S84).
meaning
In conjunction with the Bylong Valley Way, Bathurst-Ilford Road is a quieter alternative for the journey from Bathurst to the Hunter Valley , which offers many more viewpoints.
