Windrath farmers
The peasantry Windrath up to the 19th century, one of the lowest administrative units in the rural outskirts of Bergisch mayoralty Hardenberg in the district Elberfeld the administrative district of Dusseldorf within the Prussian Rhine Province .

According to the statistics and topography of the Düsseldorf administrative district from 1832, the following subordinate towns and places to live belonged to the peasantry : Zu Knürsches , Zu Schnitzes , Zu Oerk , Im Igelsbruch , Im Thal , Aufm Hof , Zur Helten , Im Jute , Zu Kleines and Zu Schäpers .
The municipality encyclopedia for the province of Rhineland lists the towns and places of residence in 1888 in detail: Böskesschmitte, Bruch, Brücke, Dahl, Eckern, Eierbusch, Hagen, Hahnenbusch, Hassel I, Hassel II, Hassel III, Hellerbusch, Hof, Horst, Hühnerbusch, Igelsbruch, Im Busch, In den Hülsen, Judt, Juterbusch, Kleinobs, Klein Obsberg, Klukenbusch, Knürschhaus, Köttgen, Küppersbruch, Lippesfeld, Lippeskothen, Lückenhaus, Obenhageroth, Örk, Pillenbusch, Rinkenbusch, Rüb, Schelenhaus, Schepern, Schmittshaus, Stöckern, Tente, Timpen, Triebel, Unterhageroth, Windrath School, Wüstenhof and Zur Hellen. At that time, 424 people lived in 60 houses in these places.
Several of the farms that still exist today are dedicated to organic farming .
The small Windrath chapel , which is said to date from the Middle Ages, is on Donnenberger Straße . Today there is a service once a month.
