The Baumberge-Verein e. V. Münster (BBV) was founded in 1896 and is based in Münster . It is entered in the register of associations of the Münster District Court (VR 1660). The first chairman was Friedrich Westhoff .
The area of the hiking club includes the Baumberge and the surrounding villages. The tasks of the association include hiking activities and the maintenance of the Longinusturm . According to its statutes, it is active in monument , environmental , landscape and nature conservation . Furthermore, it supports and promotes the maintenance of customs and the idea of home . The association also publishes hiking maps and literature on the Baumberge.
The Baumberger Ludgerusweg , the Hollandgängerweg and the Westfälische-Friede-Weg are signposted by the Baumberge-Verein . In addition, the association maintains seven circular hiking trails starting at the Longinusturm with a total length of 53 kilometers and 58 local circular hiking trails with a total length of 605 kilometers.
The association is a member of the German Hiking Association and the Münster City Home Association. The North Rhine-Westphalia Foundation for Nature Conservation, Heritage and Cultural Preservation supports the Baumberge Association as a member of the Friends' Association . As a nature conservation association, the Baumberge-Verein is involved in the German Nature Conservation Ring , to which it belongs through the German Hiking Association.
Awards
The Baumberge Association received the Eichendorff badge in 1996 .
