Baumgarten is a village in the northern Freising district in Upper Bavaria . 163 inhabitants live in the village (as of 2012). Baumgarten has been part of the Nandlstadt market since January 1, 1972 .

The parish village is located in the middle of the Hallertau , about 20 kilometers northeast of the district town of Freising at 495 m above sea level .
history
Paumgarten , Paungarten , Baumtgarten , Puomgart , Paumgartten (= orchard near Nandlstadt) in Holledau (= Hallertau) is a very old settlement. The place was first mentioned in a directory in 1315 as a branch of the parish of Hörgertshausen . Until the beginning of the 19th century, the place was the seat of a chairman in the Moosburg district court on the Isar. In 1818, the rural community was founded with the municipal edict. In addition to the main town, it also included Altfalterbach , Andorf, Bockschwaig, Gründl , Hadersdorf, Kollersdorf, Kronwinkl, Oberschwaig, Reith, Schatz, Spitz, Thalsepp, Tölzkirchen and Zeilhof. With the municipal reform , the municipality of Baumgarten was dissolved on January 1, 1972.
