The Bayerische Kammerphilharmonie is an orchestra from Augsburg , founded in 1990 , which is dedicated to the interpretation of classical and contemporary music .

Just one year after its founding, the orchestra was invited to the inauguration concert of the “Joods Historish Museum” with works by Jewish composers from Theresienstadt . In 1992 she took part in the opening concerts of the restored colonial theaters in Brazil. The musicians were also engaged for the annual music festival "L'été musical dans la vallée du Lot" in the south of France .

The ensemble gives concerts at home and abroad and has been a guest at international festivals in France, Switzerland (Montreux), Cyprus, Poland and the Czech Republic. It played with soloists and conductors such as Reinhard Goebel , Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau , Mischa Maisky , Mario Venzago , David Geringas , Michel Plasson , Julia Varady , Mstislaw Rostropowitsch , Dave Brubeck , Chick Corea , but also worked with personalities such as Walter Jens and Norbert Blüm together.

CD recordings were made by the labels EMI , Deutsche Grammophon , OehmsClassics and Arte Nova , many of them in cooperation with Bayerischer Rundfunk . In 1996 the ensemble received two important European awards: the European Business Prize and the European Regions' Culture Prize . The CD with Hartmann / Mozart with Karl Amadeus Hartmann's Violin Concerto was voted the best recording of this work worldwide by BBC3. In the summer of 2007, the recently completed CD recording on the Sony BMG label with arias from “Armida” operas and the soprano Annette Dasch was presented at the Salzburg Festival . The CD with Reinhard Goebel, which was made in coproduction with the culture office of the city of Augsburg, “Mozart in Paris”, was awarded the French record price Diapason d'or in February 2008 .
