Be My Love is a song by Nicholas Brodszky (music) and Sammy Cahn (lyrics) released in 1949.

Brodszky and Cahn wrote the song for the MGM film Der Fischer von Louisiana (original title: The Toast of New Orleans ), with Mario Lanza , Kathryn Grayson and David Niven in the leading roles. Mario Lanza and Kathryn Grayson introduce the song. Be My Love received an Oscar nomination for Best Song in 1951 .

In addition to Mario Lanza's record release (Victor 10-1561), the song was already released in 1950 a. a. also recorded by Erroll Garner , Billy Eckstine , Ray Anthony and Les Brown ( Columbia 39157). In the 1950s, the song was recorded in the fields of jazz and popular music, etc. a. by Mel Carter ( Liberty 56000), Gloria Lynne (Everest 9-19376), Georgie Auld ( Royal Roost 524), Kenny Dorham , Phil Woods , JJ Johnson , Earl Bostic , Ted Heath , Lou Donaldson and the hillbilly singer Danny Baker (Owl 110 ).
