Beatriz Fernández Ibáñez (born March 19, 1985 in Santander ) is a former Spanish handball player .
Career
Fernández started playing handball when she was about twelve years old. The outside player later played for the Spanish first division clubs Vícar Goya, Parc Sagunt , CB Mar Alicante and Bera Bera. In the summer of 2012, the right-hander moved to the French first division club Fleury Loiret Handball . With Fleury Loiret Handball, she won the French Cup in 2014 and the French Championship in 2015. From the beginning of 2016 she ran again for Bera Bera. With Bera Bera she won the Spanish championship in 2016. Then she ended her career.
Fernández played 177 appearances for the Spanish national team , in which they scored 371 goals. With Spain she moved into the final of the European Championship 2008 , which Norway won with 34:21. A year later she was part of the Spanish squad at the World Cup in the People's Republic of China . In the summer of 2012, Fernández took part in the Olympic Games in London , where she won the bronze medal. In 2014 she won the silver medal at the European Championships.
