Federal Government Commissioner for the Acceptance of Sexual and Gender Diversity
The Federal Government Commissioner for the Acceptance of Sexual and Gender Diversity (also known as the Federal Government’s Queer Commissioner ) is based in the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth . The first and current commissioner has been Parliamentary State Secretary Sven Lehmann since January 5, 2022 .
The office was created on the same day by resolution of the federal government . The commissioner deals with issues of queer policy and, according to the Federal Ministry of Family Affairs, should coordinate “in particular the creation and implementation of the National Action Plan for Acceptance and Protection of Sexual and Gender Diversity and the associated information for the public”.
