Hydrology

In the middle of the 19th century, the river bed in its upper course was blocked when the Périgueux - Limoges railway line was built . For this reason, the course of the river has seeped away over a length of about five kilometers and only reappears on the surface at the hamlet of Pouvériéras . Only in the case of intense precipitation can his bed in this section sometimes serve as a water overflow for a few hours.
