Before the Fall is an Austrian metalcore band from Vienna .
history
Before the Fall was founded in 2005 by Michael Kronstorfer ( vocals , guitar ) and Rudolf Obermann (guitar). In addition, Hannes Schweiger (bass) and Philip Deniflee (drums) were in the original line-up. Just one year after its founding, the band got a record deal with the Austrian label Noisehead Records .
In December 2006 her debut album From Mutism to Riddance was released . Their style is influenced by death metal , thrash metal as well as hardcore punk , the mixture of which is now often referred to as deathcore / metalcore . Influential bands include Meshuggah , Pantera , Carcass and Fear Factory , among others .
In 2007 they played at the SummerNights Festival, the Metalcamp in Slovenia and the Rock Hell Festival. When they switched to the German record label Twilight Records in October 2007, the band went on a European tour with the Dutch death metal veteran Gorefest .
Live activities in 2008 included a performance at the Summer Nights Festival and the Metal Opening at Gasometer Vienna with Heaven Shall Burn . In 2012, after a few line-up changes, the band formed anew and brought three new members on board: Luca Boccia (drums), Ljubo Lukic (guitar) and Phillip Puk (electric bass).
In early 2011 the band finished their second studio album, Antibody , which was produced by Michael Kronstorfer himself and mixed and mastered by top producer Tue Madsen ( Hatesphere , Dagoba , Heaven Shall Burn , Sick of It All , Mnemic , Aborted etc.). The band has a rather unusual studio line-up with three guitarists, but singer Michael Kronstorfer does not play his guitar during live performances.
Singer Michael Kronstorfer has also been working as a producer since 2009 and has been running the Metalforge Studio in Vienna since 2012.
