The Behn Peninsula ( Spanish Península Behn , in Argentina Península Ballvé ) is a north in Valdivia Point expiring peninsula at the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies between the Graham Passage in the west and Salvesen Cove in Hughes Bay in the east.
Chilean scientists named it after Francisco Behn of the Universidad de Concepción , who had carried out studies on the fauna and flora in this area during the 5th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1950–1951) . The Argentinean name is named after Lieutenant Horacio Ballvé (1873–1925), skipper of the corvette Azopardo on her Antarctic voyage , who in 1902 had set up the first meteorological observation station in Antarctica on Observation Island .
