Genevieve Behrent

Genevieve Behrent (born September 25, 1990 in Oamaru , New Zealand ) is a New Zealand rower .

Behrent rowed eighth to the silver medal at the U23 World Championships in 2010 and 2011, and in 2012 she won bronze with the double scull .

In the adult class, she made her debut at the 2010 World Championships in New Zealand with a fourth place in the four without a helmsman . In 2013 she rowed eighth in the New Zealand Rowing World Cup , with which she finished seventh at the 2013 World Championships . After a year break, Behrent returned to eighth in 2015. At the 2015 World Championships in France , the New Zealand eighth finished second behind the US large boat. The New Zealand eighth qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics. The New Zealand eighth consisted of Kayla Pratt , who won the silver medal .Emma Dyke , Ruby Tew , Kelsey Bevan , Grace Prendergast , Kerri Gowler , Genevieve Behrent, Rebecca Scown and taxwoman Frances Turner .

In 2016 Scown and Behrent rowed in two boat classes in the World Cup and achieved medal ranks in Lucerne and in Posen, both without a helmsman and with the eighth. The eighth won in Poznan, the eighth from Canada and the United States not taking part. At the 2016 Olympic Games , Scown and Behrent won the silver medal in a pair behind the British defending champions Helen Glover and Heather Stanning . With the eighth they also reached the A-final and finished there in fourth place.
