Ossuary in Plouarzel

The ossuary in Plouarzel , a French commune in the Finistère department in Brittany , was built in 1696. In 1928 the ossuary in the enclosed parish was added to the list of architectural monuments in France as Monument historique .

The rectangular building made of local granite with a length of 14 meters and a width of six meters has an unadorned arched portal on the south side and four arched windows to the right of the entrance. A holy water font is integrated into the facade in the middle of the window . The gable roof is covered with rectangular stone slabs and is crowned by a roof turret.

The left part of the building with two rectangular windows was used as a cemetery chapel.
