Origin and meaning
The family name Beltrami was formed between the 12th and 13th centuries as a patronymic and means son of Beltramo . The nickname Beltramo, in turn, arose at the time of the rule of the Franks over the kingdom of the Lombards as a Lombard name variant of the Franconian name Berhthraban . This is made up of the two Germanic words Berht (bright) and Hraban (Rabe) together and goes to the worship of the Germanic gods father Odin back (Wotan), which often Raven God was called.
