Benedikt Kaiser (* 1987 ) is a German political scientist and author . He is assigned to the New Right .

Life

Kaiser studied political science with a European focus in Chemnitz . He works as a lecturer at the publishing house Antaios , is a regular author of the right-wing theoretical organ Secession and an important player in the Institute for State Policy (IfS) around Götz Kubitschek . Kaiser is also Germany correspondent for the magazine Éléments, edited by Alain de Benoist , and stands for a further development of a modern right-wing criticism of capitalism . He publishes on Paneuropean ideas, European fascisms and intellectuals in the environment of authoritarian movements and parties.

Positions

Kaiser is considered the German apologist of Alain de Benoist , with whom he has already appeared together. Like him, he works on expanding the new right perspective on economic and socio-political issues, including in the right-wing intellectual journal Sezession . Within the secession he is particularly responsible for questions critical of capitalism. The sociologist Thomas Wagner points out that Kaiser's texts would differ from the tone of the nationalist anti-capitalism of the NPD . Kaiser represents sharp opposition to neoliberalism and criticizes the power of multinational corporations. In his book “Querfront” in particular, he speaks out against a neoliberalization of the political right and calls on them to address the social question .

He is also inspired by left-wing debates. Based on the term “mosaic left” coined by the union left Hans-Jürgen Urban , he coined the term “mosaic right”. Within these “mosaic rights” he has a strategic view of the AfD , which has the task of uniting different camps, “whose ideological positions can sometimes differ greatly”. This brought him the charge of "discourse piracy". He considers a “revolutionary realpolitik” to be the order of the day. " Metapolitics and party politics, journalism and parliamentarism, demonstrations and party meetings" shouldn't be opposites, according to Kaiser. The rifts between real politicians and fundamental opposition would have to be filled in order to “build another Germany as a long-term goal”.

Despite the allegations of “discourse piracy”, critics like Tilman Krause also describe him as “intellectually quite capable of satisfactory”. Kaiser himself countered corresponding allegations in an interview with Thomas Wagner: "[...] it's not about intellectual theft. Instead, we look to see where something is actually better analyzed and formulated by left theorists, and sometimes even by a liberal thinker. This can be taken up in the sense of a critical takeover and integrated into your own position. It would be narrow-minded to say that I am not doing this because I am dealing with a leftist thinker. "

In addition to social issues, his focus is on European issues. For example, at an academy run by the Institute for State Policy, he declared that Europe could only become an independent political force if it overcame its nationalisms and chauvinisms in favor of cross-border solidarity.
