Sebastian Friedrich

Sebastian Friedrich (* 1985 ) is a German social scientist and journalist .

Life

Friedrich studied social work / social education at the Evangelical University of Berlin . For his diploma thesis “In search of Neukölln. The construction of a 'problem district' ”he received the Countess von der Schulenburg Prize from his university.

He is doing his doctorate at the University of Duisburg-Essen on the educational topic "Media Discourse on the Unemployed and Unemployment in the Federal Republic". Between 2012 and 2016 Friedrich had lectureships at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the Evangelical University of Berlin . Until mid-2017 he was a freelancer at the Duisburg Institute for Linguistic and Social Research (DISS). His main research interests include new rights , racism , social inequality , class analysis and discourse analysis .

Friedrich was a program volunteer at NDR from August 2017 . In the following years he created posts for the media magazine Zapp , whose radio youth format CTRL F . He also wrote several comments. Before that, he was editor of the online magazine kritisch-lesen.de (of which he is a co-founder) and the monthly newspaper analyze & kritik (ak). As an ak editor in July 2017, he was one of the journalists whose accreditation was withdrawn at the G20 summit . In November 2019, the administrative court ruled in favor of Friedrich. Articles of his appeared in the newspapers Neues Deutschland , Junge Welt , Friday and taz .
