Benedikt Konrad Vollmann
Benedikt Konrad Vollmann (born August 1, 1933 in Illertissen ; † October 25, 2012 in Eichstätt ) was a German philologist . He worked as a professor for Middle Latin at the Universities of Eichstätt and Munich .
Benedikt Konrad Vollmann studied Catholic theology , classical philology and German at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . Already during his studies he turned increasingly to the Latin philology of the Middle Ages and the early modern period . After his doctorate as Dr. theol. In 1965 and 1967, he passed the first and second state examinations for higher teaching qualifications in Latin and German at the Benedictine religious college of Sant'Anselmo in Rome.
After completing his legal clerkship , Vollmann went to the newly founded University of Regensburg in 1967 , where he worked as a research assistant at the Chair of German Medieval Studies . In 1973 he moved to the University of Tübingen as an Academic Councilor for Medieval Latin Philology , where he completed his habilitation in 1982 . In 1988 he followed a call to full professor for Middle Latin at the Catholic University of Eichstätt . In 1993 he changed to the chair of this subject at the University of Munich , where he worked until his retirement in 1999.
