In the film, Benjamin works through his own problems with gay acquaintances in London in a semi-autobiographical manner. He has been working on the project for seven years and has subordinated everything else in his life. Since he's especially screwed up the end of the film, his producer is outraged.
On the evening before the premiere of his film, he met the French singer Noah in a bar and felt magically drawn to him. The premiere of his film the next day turns into a disaster, his crisis of meaning is exacerbated, especially because he does not know whether he is ready for true love, now that his career is in tatters.
