Benjamin Baumann

Benjamin Baumann (born July 21, 1969 in Hanau ) is a German director and author . He directed numerous plays and musicals, including the nuns show Nunsense the US author Dan Goggin .

biography

Baumann studied theater, film and media studies, German studies and art education at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and wrote his master's thesis on off-Broadway musicals.

Since 1995 he has directed numerous plays and musicals, including Non (n) sens by Dan Goggin (544 performances) and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Evita . For the Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale Festival in Hanau he worked for several years as a director and author. As a translator and songwriter, he has translated numerous musicals into German, including a. the Broadway classic Bye Bye Birdie and various sequels to Goggin's Nuns series. In 1994 he received the Main-Kinzig-Kreis Culture Prize for his artistic work. As a teacher for the performing arts and arts, he passes on his experience to young people at an upper secondary school in Bruchköbel. He also works as a freelance coach and gives courses in the areas of phonetics, rhetoric and theater.
