From 1906 at the latest until his death, Hübel lived in Dresden- Mickten in the spacious apartment building at Homiliusstrasse 15 , which was built according to his own plans and with elements of Art Nouveau , which later became the parish hall of the Emmaus community of Kaditz. This rental villa belonged to him and he ran his architecture and construction office there.

In 1926 he died in the deaconess hospital and was buried near his apartment in the middle cemetery of the Kaditzer Emmauskirche on Serkowitzer Strasse.
