Benoît Pourtanel (born April 12, 1974 in Ris-Orangis ) is a French ice hockey player and coach who has been a player- coach at Toulouse Blagnac Hockey Club since 2005 . His brother Jérôme was also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Benoît Pourtanel began his career as a hockey player with the Jets de Viry-Châtillon , for whose professional team he worked from 1992 to 1996 - first in the 1992/93 season in Division 1 , the second French division and then for three years in the Ligue Magnus - was active. He then played for a year in Division 1 for the ice hockey department of the Athletic Club de Boulogne-Billancourt . From 1997 to 2003 the defender played for the Ducs d'Angers in the Ligue Magnus, where he was team captain in Angers from 2001 to 2003. He then stood for two years for the top club Dragons de Rouen , with whom he won the Coupe de France , the French cup competition, in 2004 and 2005 .

Since 2005 Pourtanel has been the player-coach at Toulouse Blagnac Hockey Club , with whom he was promoted to Division 1 in the 2009/10 season.

International

For France , Pourtanel took part in the junior division of the U18 Junior B European Championships in 1992 and the U20 Junior B World Championships in 1993 and 1994 . In the senior sector, he was in his country's squad at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City , the qualifying tournament for the 2002 Winter Olympics and the 2002 B World Cup .
