Benson & Hedges World Series 1990/91

The Benson & Hedges World Series 1990/91 was a three-nation tournament that was played from November 29, 1990 to January 15, 1991 in Australia in one-day cricket . In the tournament, which was part of the international cricket season 1990/91 , teams from England and New Zealand took part alongside the host . In the final, Australia prevailed with two wins against New Zealand.

prehistory

The tournament took place alongside the parallel Ashes Tour in Australia . New Zealand previously did an unsuccessful tour in Pakistan .

format

In a preliminary round, each team played four times each. There were two points for a win and one point for a draw or no result. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory in a best-of-three series.
