Benzene sulfonamide is a chemical compound from the group of sulfonic acid amides .

Extraction and presentation

Benzenesulfonamide can be obtained by sulfochlorination of benzene with chlorosulfonic and subsequent reaction of the resulting benzenesulphochloride with ammonia .

use

Benzene sulfonamide is used as a plasticizer and in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals (e.g. bosentan , sulfamerazine ), disinfectants, dyes and plastics. Its basic structure can be found in many of these compounds, which are thus called benzenesulfonamides .
