Berg , in Lower Sorbian Gora , was a residential area of Groß Lübbenau until June 2014 and thus belonged to the city of Lübbenau / Spreewald in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in Brandenburg . Together with the eastern adjacent residential area Scheddis , Berg formed the part of Groß Lübbenau that was not devastated by the Seese-Ost open-cast lignite mine . The place was also known as a mountain tavern or mountain forester's house.

The Berg settlement is or was located west of Groß Lübbenau at the junction of the connecting road to Groß Lübbenau between Boblitz and Bischdorf . The Bergschänke already existed in 1798. At that time it belonged to the Calauische Kreis in the Electorate of Saxony . In 1806 Berg came to the Kingdom of Saxony as part of the Calauischen Kreis . After the division of the Kingdom of Saxony decided at the Congress of Vienna in 1815 , Berg became part of the Kingdom of Prussia . After the regional reform there in the following year, the settlement belonged to the district of Calau in the province of Brandenburg .

In the topographical-statistical overview of the administrative district of Frankfurt adO from 1844, the Bergförsterei Etablissement settlement (in this case a restaurant ) in Groß Lübbenau is recorded, where the residents of the homestead were also parish. The isolated settlement had nine residents at that time. After that, the settlement is no longer listed.

On July 1, 1950, the community of Groß Lübbenau with Berg and Scheddis moved to the district of Lübben . Since the GDR district reform on July 25, 1952, the area of ​​the Berg settlement belonged to the Calau district in the Cottbus district . After reunification , the area belonged to the district of Calau in Brandenburg, which was incorporated into the new district of Oberspreewald-Lausitz in 1993 . In the municipality and district directory, Berg was temporarily listed as a residential area for the municipality of Groß Lübbenau. On October 26, 2003, Groß Lübbenau was incorporated into the city of Lübbenau / Spreewald, with which the Berg residential area came to Lübbenau. On June 28, 2014, Berg was deleted from the register of municipalities and districts and thus legally ceased to exist.
