Bergh was a border municipality in the Dutch province of Gelderland, which was adjacent to the German city of Emmerich am Rhein . It was formed on January 1, 1821 by the union of the three communities ' s-Heerenberg , Netterden and Zeddam . On January 1, 2005, it was merged with Didam to form the new municipality of Montferland . At the time of the dissolution, Bergh had 18,416 inhabitants on 74.98 km². A small part of the municipality (0.28 km² with 28 inhabitants) became Doetinchem , another uninhabited part (0.28 km²) was added to Zevenaar .
