Miner barberry ( Berberis bergmanniae ) is a plant from the family of Barberry (Berberidaceae). It is located in the central Chinese province of Sichuan .
description
Bergmann's barberry is an evergreen, densely bushy shrub that can reach a height of up to 2 meters. The branches are angular, gray-yellow in color and bare, the thorns in three parts and up to 4.5 centimeters long. The leaves, which are slightly shiny on the top, shiny and lighter colored underneath, are elliptical, prickly and up to 7 centimeters long. The leaf veins are indistinct, the leaves have 3 to 8 strong teeth on each side .
The yellow flowers appear in dense clusters of 8 to 15 in May. The egg-shaped berries are deep blue and frosted. The plant is poisonous.
