Berlinghausen is a village in the southern Sauerland . It forms a village and the eponymous local authority district 9 of the city of Drolshagen in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Olpe . The place has 314 inhabitants.

Berlinghausen is about two kilometers between the center of Drolshagen in the west and Olpe- Rüblinghausen in the east and about six kilometers south of Lake Bigge on the Brachtpe . In terms of transport, the place is conveniently located a few kilometers from the A 45 and A 4 junctions . The landscape is characterized by farms and the hills of the southwestern Sauerland.

The place has several clubs, including a men's choir and a rifle brotherhood. The centers of village life are the community hall, which was rebuilt in 1976, and the small church that is looked after by the chapel association, the oldest bell of which dates from 1738.

The first documented mention of Berlinghausen goes back to 1349, the year when the great plague also depopulated large parts of West Germany. In 1845 the population was 93, but in the course of the general increase in population and the enforcement of compulsory education, a first school was built in Berlinghausen in 1904.
