Bernard W. Burton

Bernard W. Burton (* 24. December 1898 in New York City ; † 26. February 1991 in Woodland Hills , Los Angeles , California ) was an American film editor who at the Academy Awards in 1938 for an Oscar for Best Editing was nominated .

Life

Burton began his career as an editor in the Hollywood film industry in 1928 for Melody of Love , a lost film starring Walter Pidgeon and Jane Winton , and worked in the course of his career until 1968 as film and chief editor ( Editorial Supervisor ) on nearly eighty films and episodes of TV series with.

At the Academy Awards in 1938 he was nominated for the Oscar for best editing in the comedy 100 Men and a Girl (1937).

Since 1942 Burton was also active as a film producer and produced almost thirty films by 1958, such as from the Joe Palooka film series .
