Bernard VIII d'Armagnac

Bernard VIII. D'Armagnac (born March 26, 1400 ; † around 1462 ) was Count of Pardiac , Vice-Count of Carlat and Vice-Count of Murat and, through his marriage, Duke of Nemours , Count of La Marche and Castres . He was the son of Connétable Bernard VII d'Armagnac , Count von Pardiac , and Bonne de Berry , and thus on the one hand a grandson of Jean de Valois, duc de Berry , and on the other hand a brother-in-law of Charles de Valois, duc d'Orléans .

On June 18, 1429 he fought for King Charles VII in the battle of Patay . In 1441 he made him lieutenant general for La Marche and governor of the Limousin , and in 1461 lieutenant general of Languedoc and Roussillon .

In 1429 he married Éléonore de Bourbon (* 1412, † after 1464), Countess of La Marche and Duchess of Nemours , the heir to Jacques II. De Bourbon and Béatrice d'Évreux. Their children were Jacques (* 1433; † executed 1477) and Jean, Abbé d ' Aurillac .
