Bernardo Falcone
Bernardo Falcone (* around 1620 in Bissone ; † around 1696 there ) was an Italian - Swiss sculptor of the early Baroque .
Life
Bernardo Falcone was born as the son of Domenico Falcone from Rovio and Lucia Grighi from Venice . At times he lived in Bissone, as evidenced by an inventory of his estates from 1676 and 1677. He worked as a sculptor especially in Venice and left numerous statues on and in the churches and schools of Venice: Scuola Grande dei Carmini , statue of St. Theodore and four angels (March 21, 1657– February 20, 1658 on the facade of the Scuola grande di S. Teodoro, San Zanipolo , Scalzi and Frari Church ) and in Parma (Saint John Evangelist).
In 1682 he worked on four statues for the Church of Santa Giustina in Padua and in 1694 on the colossal statue of Saint Charles Borromeo in Arona . Various works in the churches of Rovigo are also attributed to him
