Bernardo Filipe Governo OFMCap (born January 21, 1939 in Macuse , † October 20, 2013 ) was Bishop of Quelimane .

Life

Bernardo Filipe Governo joined the religious order of the Capuchin in and received on 4 October 1969, the priestly ordination .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on May 31, 1976 Bishop of Quelimane . The Apostolic Delegate in Mozambique , Francesco Colasuonno , donated him episcopal ordination on October 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Jaime Pedro Gonçalves , Coadjutor Bishop of Beira , and Alberto Setele , Bishop of Inhambane .

On March 10, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for health reasons.
