Bernd Angerer

Bernd Angerer (* 18th November 1965 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian special effect - Animator .

Career

Bernd Angerer was born in Rinn as the child of Gesine and Ernst Angerer (managing directors of the Wagnerische bookstore in Innsbruck) and grew up in the small village in Tyrol with his younger sister Izabel. Angerer began his professional career in the field of computer graphics in Vienna in the fields of television advertising and video clips . He learned video editing , camera work and various animation techniques. In 1997 he moved to Los Angeles .

His first Hollywood film in which he worked was James Cameron's Titanic . In collaboration with the director, he was responsible for the 3-D animation of the people falling from the deck of the reared-up ship. As an animator, he worked on a number of blockbusters such as The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and The Legend of Beowulf . In I, Robot and Spider-Man 3 he was Lead Animator .

Angerer received the Clio Award in 1999 and 2000 . He was also nominated twice for the Visual Effects Society Awards and was awarded the prize in 2003 for the Adidas commercial "Mechanical Legs".
