Bernd Kunzmann

Bernd Kunzmann (born March 24, 1952 in Oelsnitz / Erzgeb. ) Is a German physicist and politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Saxon state parliament .

Life

Bernd Kunzmann visited the POS in Ortmannsdorf (today in Mülsen ) as well as the EOS and completed his Abitur in Zwickau . He then trained as a skilled worker and worked as an electrician in the VEB hard coal mines "Martin Hoop" in Zwickau. Between 1970 and 1974 he studied physics at the TU Dresden . From 1974 and 1978 a research study and scientific assistance at the engineering college in Zittau followed . In 1979 Kunzmann received his doctorate in engineering. Between 1978 and 1990 he was a research assistant at the Central Institute for Nuclear Research in Rossendorf . From May 1990 he was deputy chairman of the works council.

Kunzmann is a member of the ÖTV . Between January and April 1990 he was a member of the legal working group of the “ Group of 20 ” in Dresden .

Kunzmann is married.

politics

Kunzmann was one of the co-founders of the New Forum in the Dresden district , for which he was extensively involved between October 1989 and January 1990. The Dresden coordination committee sent him to the first GDR-wide delegates' meeting of the New Forum in Berlin, where he represented the draft program of the Dresden group. He was also involved in the group of 20 in Dresden.

Kunzmann has been a member of the SPD since March 1990. He is also a member of the state board of Saxony and the working group for employee issues of the SPD. In October 1990 he moved into the Saxon state parliament via the state list of the SPD Saxony , to which he belonged for an electoral period until 1994. There he was active in the Constitutional and Legal Committee as well as in the Committee for Federal and European Affairs.

From 2002 to 2004 Kunzmann was head of the information office of the European Parliament in Prague . In 2009 he worked for the European Parliament in Berlin .

Honors

On October 13, 2009, he received the Saxon Order of Merit on the occasion of "20 Years of Peaceful Revolution " .
