Bernhard Baurschmidt

Bernhard Baurschmidt (born December 4, 1839 in Lüchow ; † April 7, 1906 in Wernigerode ) was a German administrative lawyer and member of the Reichstag .

Life

Baurschmidt attended high school in Salzwedel and the Lyceum in Hanover. He studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . He received his doctorate as Dr. iur. and in 1863 became an auditor in the Hanoverian judicial service and in 1868 a court assessor at the Hanover Higher Court . From 1869 to 1883 he was mayor of the city of Osterode am Harz . In 1883 he was appointed bailiff of the Peine district (from 1885 district administrator of the Peine district ). Until 1885 he was also responsible for the administrative business of the Meinersen office . In 1888 he became senior government councilor in Magdeburg and in 1891 regional president in the district of Breslau , where he left the service in 1898.

From 1876 to 1882 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives and at times also a member of the Hanover Provincial Parliament. From 1887 to 1888 he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of the Province of Hanover  14 ( Gifhorn , Celle , Peine , Burgdorf ) and the National Liberal Party . On November 27, 1888, he resigned from his seat.
