Bernhard Ilg (born February 8, 1956 in Geislingen an der Steige ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He is Lord Mayor of the major district town of Heidenheim an der Brenz in East Württemberg .

Life

Bernhard Ilg completed his university studies in 1980 with a degree in administrative management (FH) . He then served until 1986 county magistrate in District Office Biberach , responsible for combing and special tasks. From 1986 to November 28, 1999 he was mayor of the Salach community . He was re-elected to this office on September 4, 1994. He has been Lord Mayor of the city of Heidenheim since February 1, 2000, and was re-elected on November 11, 2007. While the election in 2000 ran out narrowly, he won in 2007 with 82.27 percent of the valid votes. He was re-elected on May 8, 2015, this time with 78.15 percent of the valid votes.

Since June 13, 2004 he has also been a member of the district council of the Heidenheim district . He is the father of two sons.

Among other things, he is chairman of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke and a member of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Heidenheim. Bernhard Ilg is head of the Wedel-Brenz water association and a member of the Radio 7 program advisory board . He is chairman of the Stauferland tourist association and a member of the Mayors for Peace organization . He has been an honorary senator at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University Heidenheim since 2018.

At the end of August 2020, Ilg announced that he did not want to end his current term in office and that he would retire early.
