Bernhard Krug (* 1949 in Berlin- Weissensee) is a German painter.

Life

From 1973 to 1976 he studied at the Pedagogical University, Hagen with Walter Erben, from 1977 to 1982 at the Art Academy in Münster with Timm Ulrichs and at the University of Münster philosophy. After the 1st state examination for teaching at grammar school, a legal traineeship from 1982 to 1985 and the 2nd state examination for grammar school (art and philosophy), he worked as an art and philosophy teacher at the Albert-Schweitzer-Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium, Marl , from 1985 to 2014 . From 2002 until his retirement in 2014, he was director of studies and seminar leader for art at the two seminars for teaching at grammar schools and comprehensive schools, Recklinghausen and Gelsenkirchen (temporarily also working at the seminar in Bocholt). Bernhard Krug lives in Dülmen.

In the 1970s, Krug was one of the young artists of the "New Landscape". In his work he dealt with the history of landscape painting itself (group of works The Grammar of Landscape Painting ) and with questions of painting itself ( picture diary ). In his work he takes up the traditions of landscape painting and develops them further. His landscapes initially appear fictional - they can only rarely be related to a specific topography .
