Bernhard Ross

Bernhard Roß (born May 14, 1865 in Aachen , † March 9, 1919 in Hanover ; full name Bernhard Alfred Friedrich Hubert Ross ) was a German architect and lecturer at the Technical University of Hanover .

Life

family

Bernhard Roß was married to Irmgard , a daughter of the Linden factory owner Johann Egestorff and the stepdaughter of the architect Heinrich Köhler .

Career

Bernhard Ross studied 1885–1889 at the Technical University of Hanover, in 1887 he became a member of the Bauhütte zum white sheet . After completing his studies, he began a legal traineeship , which he completed in 1893 with the 2nd state examination and the appointment as government master builder ( assessor in public building administration).

From 1895 he taught architecture as a private lecturer at the Technical University of Hanover, where he worked as an assistant from 1897 to 1901 and also as a lecturer for acoustics and secular architecture of the Italian Renaissance from 1897 to 1899. In 1899 Ross was appointed professor from the university, and from 1903 he was responsible for the fields of statics and art history.

In 1914, Bernhard Ross was appointed a secret councilor.
