Bernhard Spielberg

Bernhard Spielberg (* 1976 in Würzburg ) is a German Catholic theologian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1995 at Balthasar-Neumann-Gymnasium and doing civilian service (1995–1996) at the St. Elisabeth social station in Marktheidenfeld , he studied Catholic theology ( diploma ) in Würzburg from 1995 to 2001 . From 2001 to 2002 he was a pastoral worker in St. Adalbero and St. Andreas, Würzburg. From 2001 to 2008 he was a research assistant at the chair for pastoral theology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg ( Erich Garhammer ). After receiving his doctorate in 2008 as Dr. theol. (summa cum laude) he was academic advisor at the chair for pastoral theology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg from 2008 to 2014 . After completing his habilitation in 2014 for the subjects of pastoral theology and homiletics and being appointed to the senior academic council, he became junior professor for pastoral theology at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg in 2014 . In 2019 he became a university professor for pastoral theology in Freiburg im Breisgau .

Spielberg is a member of the editorial board of the Living Pastoral Care .
