Bert I. Gordon
Bert Ira Gordon (born September 24, 1922 in Kenosha , Wisconsin ) is an American film director , film producer and screenwriter .
Life
Gordon began amateur shooting on 16mm film when he was nine . After completing his training at the University of Wisconsin – Madison , he first worked as a producer of television commercials . From the mid-1950s he turned science fiction - and horror - B-movies , in which he usually took on several functions. In addition to directing and producing, he often wrote the script and was responsible for the special effects , which mostly consisted of simple rear projections . No other director has more films in the resultant between 1988 and 1999 Comedy - television series Mystery Science Theater 3000 represented, which makes fun of B movies.
At the Saturn Award ceremony in 2011 , Gordon was presented with the Life Career Award .
