history

Seal mark of the community of Berthelsdorf

The forest hoof village of Berthelsdorf, first mentioned in 1455, could go back to Berthold von Potschappel (home town sw. Dresden) as a settlement leader, who appears in 1206 together with his relative Dietrich (founder of the neighboring Dittersdorf?) Once in the tradition. In any case, there are numerous factual indications that speak for this. The lords of Potschappel were ministeriales of the burgraves of Dohna and seem to have merged with the lords of Sürßen in the 1270 / 80s .

In 1696 Berthelsdorf was part of the Pirna office . The basic rule was in 1551 at the manor Liebstadt. From 1856 to 1875 Falkenhain belonged to the Lauenstein court office , then to the Dippoldiswalde district administration . In 1900 the area of the district was 290 hectares . The population was completely Evangelical-Lutheran in 1925 . The place was parish after Döbra. In 1952, Berthelsdorf became an independent municipality part of the Pirna district , which in 1994 became part of the Saxon Switzerland district . In 1973 it was incorporated into Liebstadt. As a district of Liebstadt, Berthelsdorf became part of the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district formed from the Saxon Switzerland and Weißeritz districts in August 2008 .
