Berthold Gamer
Berthold Gamer (born March 27, 1914 in Heidelberg ; † October 29, 1966 in Bad Soden ) was a German officer ( retired major ) and manager . In 1965 he was CEO of the electrical company AEG .
Life
Gamer was born the son of a lawyer. After graduating from high school , he joined the Reichswehr . He served in World War II a. a. as a department commander in the Artillery Regiment 178. Gamer was u. a. awarded the German Cross in Gold (1942) and the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (1943). With the rank of major, he retired from the Wehrmacht .
After the war he studied business administration at the Mannheim Business School (Diplom-Kaufmann 1949). In 1949 he joined Naphtol-Chemie Offenbach . In 1952 he went to Frankfurt am Main, where he moved to the management of the Hoechst paintworks. He was first assistant to the finance directorate, then a member of the board (finance and accounting). In 1963 he became deputy chairman of the board and in 1965 chairman of the board of AEG in Frankfurt am Main.
He belonged u. a. on the supervisory boards of Commerzbank AG , Knapsack-Griesheim AG and Ruhrchemie .
In 1966 he died after an operation.
