The trade association for trade and goods logistics ( BGHW ) is a commercial trade association and thus the carrier of statutory accident insurance .

history

The trade association for trade and goods distribution was created on January 1st, 2008 from a merger of the trade association for retail and the wholesale and storage trade association . The aim of the merger was to streamline the organization and increase its effectiveness. On January 1, 2015, the BGHW was renamed from “Trade Association for Trade and Goods Distribution” to “Trade Association for Trade and Goods Logistics”.

Members / insured

The member companies include around 378,000 wholesale and retail companies as well as goods distribution . A total of around 5.3 million people are insured against accidents at work and occupational diseases with the BGHW .

structure

The BGHW has its seat in Mannheim with a further head office in Bonn . In addition, the BGHW maintains five regional headquarters, which are represented at nine locations (Berlin, Bonn, Bremen, Essen, Gera, Hamburg, Mainz, Mannheim and Munich).
